A family-run winery from the island of Vis built over generations. We cultivate indigenous grape varieties from which we produce premium wines.

The history of our winery starts with my grandfather Marko Poduje – Veli, who comes from a family with a centuries-old tradition of winemaking and viticulture. Marko was one of the island’s largest winegrowers of the last century, and back then people were tied to cooperatives and wine was sold under a common label. Along with Marko, my father Mladen Atlija (Marko’s son-in-law) also started viticulture. Seeing that the cooperative was doing worse and worse, he decided to leave the cooperative and started producing wines independently. When I enrolled in the Faculty of Agriculture, he devoted himself even more to it and began modernizing our winery. We are starting to plant new varieties, and in 2018 we are building a modern winery. After graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture – majoring in viticulture and viticulture in 2024, I earned a Master of Science in Agriculture and I dedicated all my knowledge to producing top-quality wines. All work in the winery and vineyard is done by the family and with the help of friends.

about us

Our winery is built on knowledge, tradition and the continuous improvement of winemaking practices. We cultivate a total of 4 hectares of indigenous grape varieties across 11 vineyard plots. Although the fragmentation of our vineyards complicates and increases production costs, it equally enhances the diversity of the terroir, giving our wines their authentic character. By applying modern oenological approaches and techniques, we create wines that meet the expectations of contemporary consumers while preserving the identity of the region from which they originate. Our wines are the result of dedication, perseverance and ongoing investment in expertise, through which we strive to contribute to the development of winemaking and build long-term trust with our customers and partners. Our vineyards include Vugava, Pošip, Rukatac, Trbljan (Kuc), Plavac Mali and Crljenak Kaštelanski (Zinfandel), with some vines over 60 years old. Most of our vineyards grow on red soils of varying stoniness and sandy substrates. The island of Vis is characterised by a moderate climate with dry summers and average annual rainfall of 790 mm. Its offshore position exposes it to stronger and more frequent winds compared to other central Dalmatian islands, while more than 2,600 hours of sunshine per year create ideal conditions for cultivating grapes.
